Grief

Grief is the natural response to profound loss and is the expression of the strong bond you had with the person who died. No two people grieve exactly the same way.

I can help support you during your grief. and have worked as a Bereavement Counselor at Hospice East Bay. You don’t have to feel alone; there is support.

“Perhaps they are not stars in the sky but rather openings where our loved ones shine down to let us know they are happy.” (Eskimo proverb)

Depression

Depression can arise due to many possible reasons including biology, stress, loss, trauma, medication, alcohol/drug use, or change of seasons. When it lasts more than a couple of weeks, it is more than “the blues” and it is not a sign of weakness to seek professional guidance. Many people experience clinical depression at some point in life.

We can work together to manage your depression. I have instructed Depression Management for Kaiser Mental Health and am experienced helping clients feel positive, less depressed and able to focus on the lives they wish for.

“You say you’re ‘depressed’ — all I see is resilience. You are allowed to feel messed up and inside out. It doesn’t mean you’re defective — it just means you’re human.”― David Mitchell, Cloud Atlas

Stress Management

Stress is a normal part of life and is often caused by change. When we undergo too many changes without some type of rebalancing or stress reduction, it can lead to a variety of problems including medical, physical and emotional ones.

We can work together to help you learn to manage your stress. Some effective tools include supportive talk therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, guided imagery, mindfulness, and meditation. I am also a certified hypnotherapist and can create individualized recordings to help you practice at home.
